Remembering the Queen and More Tea Sets and Coronation Fabric

A sad year on from the Queen's death. I have just finished this cross stitch in tribute. Originally for the Platinum Jubilee I changed the words at the very top and stitched in Loving Memory. The chart is from The Primitive Hare design in America.
Not much choice in Coronation fabric but I found this on Etsy and covered my chairs and made a table runner. A suitable place for my knitted Tea Cosy of Charles III. The small bear is the power behind the throne. Dressed in matching skirt, suitable T shirt and coronation ribbon on her head.
And a close up of the fabric. Now my guests including me might have to eat standing up in case they spill something or should I just buy more fabric to be on the safe side. The fabric comes from Wales.
For my recent birthday son D took me to Ikea for lunch and then I chose lights to light up my beautiful royal tea sets. Son D installed the lights and I am thrilled with them. Daughter S took me to see the movie Barbie, we both loved it, then Lunch at the Coffee Club.
Managed to fit a new shelf into the hall so my small tea sets are better displayed. Bought the banner above the shelf at a collectables fair.

This little tea set is slowly growing. The pieces are rarely seen and sometimes too expensive or not in good condition. It's from the Royal Visit to Australia in 1949. The visit never happened as the King was too sick. Princess Margaret was to have come on that visit also. Look closely at the handkerchief the tea set is on and you can see her picture from 1949.

Coronation King Charles III and I Was There

Well of course I had to be there.
I saw King Charles III in the Gold Coach and wearing his crown and I was so happy and excited to be there. I stayed in the Mall in the cold and rain overnight to secure such a great view and these are my pictures. I had my very small stool with me but a kind Irishman found me a chair from somewhere.

The coach with the Prince and Princess of Wales and their 3 children.
My favourite souvenir. A king Charles III tea cosy from Tea Cosy Folk UK. A bit disappointed in the souvenirs nothing like the array of souvenirs available in 1953
The cross stitch I am working on now by Bothy Threads.
And a Tapestry waiting in the queue to be stitched
I love tea sets and this is a very nice one in perfect condition made for the Coronation of George 6th. Below a rare coronation child's tea set made for the coronation of Edward VIII which never happened. almost perfect condition except for 1 cup which at some stage has been shattered and mended.
