embroidered sampler

This hand embroidered sampler was an ebay purchase. Designed by the Royal School of Needlework for the tobacco firm W.D & H.O Wills to commemorate the coronation in 1953. I have never seen another one like it and think i am very lucky to have it in my collection. Please click on the picture to see more detail.

    I just purchased the same completed samplet of the Aug 1902 coronation of Edward. AIt is framed and it is beautiful. I got this at an estate in Washington DC. It is exactly the same, but done in more vibrant craftsman like thread I can send you a photo if you wish. S Miller
